Dr. Selvadurai is a fellowship trained Glaucoma and Anterior Segment sub-specialist. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed his undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology with a minor in Economics at McGill University, located in Montreal.
He completed his medical degree and internship at The Chicago Medical School and Northwestern University, respectively.
His ophthalmology training and residency were completed at The Mayo Clinic, where he shared the role of Chief Resident in his final year. Following this, Dr. Selvadurai returned to Canada where he completed his fellowship at the University of Toronto. Dr Selvadurai attended French schools and speaks conversational Spanish and Tamil.
Dr. Selvadurai has volunteered his time providing diabetic and glaucoma examinations with laser treatments in St-Vincent and the Grenadines. He has also worked with ORBIS (Flying Eye Hospital) in Nigeria and Kenya.
Dr. Selvadurai is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Glaucoma Society. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and Cornea. Dr. Selvadurai is currently on the Board of the Buffalo Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Selvadurai’s surgical scope includes a combination of conventional and laser assisted surgeries in the treatment of glaucoma and cataracts.This includes, but is not limited to LensX, ECP, iStents, Express shunts, Ahmed and Baerveldt valves. Dr. Selvadurai was amongst the first surgeons in the country to introduce dropless cataract surgery to patients.
